I am getting a 1945 after work today.
But last night I read some posts over at Brighthand where a lot of people were having problems after hard resets. It seems that the Bluetooth software gets "corrupted" after a hard reset and wont work.
I dont know how common this problem is but I am very concern. I usually hard reset my devices every two months (to keep junk from accumulating) and now I will be scared to do it.
I have not read anything about it in this forum but it seems to be a problem with the 1945.
What do you guys know about this?

I've been reading that read as it's updated, but I have had mine for a couple months now & use the bluetooth connection daily & haven't had any problems. I haven't been using the filestore, though.

From What I get in that thread, it seems to happen when making backups to the file store. I am planning on using the FileStore when I get my Ipaq. (mainly for my Bible Reader, Reader and Acrobat)
What i will do is make a back up of my ipaq first thing before I change anything out of the box. Burn that back up on a CD and hope that I never need it. Also I will never bacjk up to the FileStore ROM.
I wonder how many have had problems with this and if it should be a concern? I am not paying $100 extra for bluetooth if I might loose it!

I had this problem yesterday, and I tried pretty much everything to get it back.
The only thing worked was calling BestBuy (store where I bought it) and they replaced it.
It happened after i did a hard reset, setup my programs and information and bluetooth settings, and then did a (compressed) backup to the Ipaq File Store.
After the backup it wants a soft reset, and then I get a message that the bluetooth manager program cannot be found. (shortcut was still in the windows startupfolder.
After looking around, everything bluetooth related was gone except for the helpfiles. Even in the settings menu no bluetooth.

My problem was that I never performed a hard reset before taking my PDA home and then after a couple weeks when I performed my first hard reset I discovered that my bluetooth stopped working. So I exchanged this PDA for another at my local Fry's. The second PDA lost bluetooth while transfering files to the filestore... my PDA crashed I reset and I lost bluetooth AGAIN.
Certainly it's scary and can piss one off, but my h1945 has been fine since a visit from HP. I will never touch the file store again as I don't want to lose my PDA for a few days if the filestore can screw up bluetooth.
