Hello!

I have an Ipaq 2215 and a Belkin 100 meter USB Bluetooth adapter and I would like to know if there is a way to get the the 100 foot range?

I realize now that my PDA is 10m range and that my dongle us 100. But if you think about it, if my USB gives out a 100 meter signal, why doesnt my ipaq go 100 meter's away?

bt usb|--------100m----------||---ipaq 10m--|

isnt that how its supposed to work? :roll:

How much range do you get now?

I have no experience with bluetooth yet (only WIFI) since I am just getting a 1945 tomorrow, so if I am wrong please someone correct me.

Your ipaq sends and receives information to/from the BT adapter, not like the FM radio on your car which only receives signals. So your adapter may "send" its signal 100mts away but your ipaq´s anwser will faint before it gets to the adapter.

Sort of what happen if someone is 100mts away talking to you using a loud speaker and you trying to anwser with only the air in your lungs.

I hope it helped.

by the way, what range are you getting? i want to get the same BT adapter that you have to use it with my new ipaq. I used to have a WIFI setup before but it drained to much juice out of my old PPC (RIP).

Range depends, its pretty good, but we have a big house. I guess it works within the 50 feet the iPAQ is capable of, even though the Dongle goes 333 feet. If only I can get my iPaq to go 333 feet. :(
