View Full Version : Keeps turning on?

My Ipaq 5555 keeps turning on, even when not in "sleep" mode but turned "off" to try to connect to a network. It then gives me the settings or "dismiss" option. Settings takes me no-where but to a "what do you want to connect to screen". I need to turn this OFF. It drains the battery every night.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. :)

Could it be a third-party application running on a timer that tries to go out and update some data? I have a 5550 here and it doesn't do that, but I have almost nothing installed on it. Pocket PCs normally turn themselves on at midnight to set up timer events for the next day, but this sounds like something different.
I've had similar problems.. it was ActiveSync trying to connect... you might want to check that.

There are 2 other active threads in this forum that deal with this nasty problem. I think that the solution that was proposed to me did the trick.
If you have an e-mail account configured on your device, you need to go into the account settings and disable the setting called:
"Connect and check for messages every:"
This should stop the connection bubble from appearing...
