Dual boot is cool and fairly easy to get going.

How about TRI-Boot? This should work, right? Just add another partition?

Has anyone here had more than 2 non-emulated OSs on a desktop PC at once?

Depends on the bootloader you use. There are tools like System Commander (http://www.v-com.com/product/sc7_ind.html) that make it easy to have multiple OSes. I used to have three at one point, I think, but I haven't had a need anymore; I just have various machines with different OSes networked together.

OK...I'll bite...which 3 areyou installing? I am guessing a Windows and LInux but the 3rd possibility eludes me.

By the way, System Commander worked pretty good for me when I was running Windows 98 and Red Hat.

I don't know if I will. I was planning on Red Hat and XP Pro, but was wondering how the system manages more than 2 OS.

It's a cross between a hypothetical question and the W?BIC principle. In the end I might go for just a basic dual-boot.

I once had Win2k, WinMe and RH7.something on a box. IIRC, I set the Linux bootloader to have Linux and Windows options and the Windows option pointed to the (existing) MS boot record. It's been several years so I can't remember quite how I set it up.

Last time I installed Linux (Mandrake) next to my Win2k OS I did not need to use System Commander. The OS "chooser" that came with Mandrake worked fine. But I am betting you already knew that
