I just got the new powerbook G4 and I'm trying to sync my iPAQ with the powerbook via a bluetooth connection, but it won't work. The computer recognizes that it is a PocketPC but it won't make a connection. I can't get on the internet from my iPAQ via bluetooth and it won't sync information via bluetooth. Help, PLEASE!!!!

Hi!

You're using iSync to synchronize right? Then you will need to buy Missing Sync for Pocket PCs from Mark/Space (http://www.markspace.com/pocketpc.html). According to their website, it should support your HP 1940 and syncing via Bluetooth.
It's certainly strange, that Apple decided to not support Pocket PC's and that their users were better of with palms...

You might also want to check out the review I've written of Missing Sync that is here: http://www.pdagold.com/articles/detail.asp?a=81 (http://www.pdagold.com/articles/detail.asp?a=81)

Good Luck!

Pocket PC's are not natively compatible with Macs, being Windows based.

You have three ways of accessing a PPC on a Mac, first MissingSync, as mentioned, or PocketMac (highly suggest only new version 3.0) and lastly, via Virtual PC with a real Windows OS running and Activesyncing and Outlook Express PIM data syncing within Windows.

The advantage of using VPC is that all features and PPC .exe installers are available within the Windows OS as expected. The other two solutions can't use .exe installers (being Windows based) and require finding .CAB files to directly install applications. The problem is that not all PPC applications are available as .CAB files, so choices may be limited.
