Does anyone think there will ever be a definitive solution to Spam? This is starting to get old. I just received my fist spam in my inbox ever. Not sure how since I don't share this e-mail address with anyone. huh. Of course 1 e-mail every few days is nothing to what some people get. So I guess I can’t complain.

Ed, very funny but the joke is on us! A good friend of mine in marketing is out of work and has been temping. She was recently complaining about a guy she started working for in New York City. He is a Harvard graduate, very early twenties, seems to be a nerdy genius with terrible people skills. There are four others like him in the company and she is making $25 an hour for doing next to nothing. She said last year they made $2 million, this year they are expected to do $6. She gave me the name of the company, I did some digging around - guess what they do for a living?

Spammers use brute-force techniques - if they detect a valid domain, they'll use dictionary-based brute force attacks to find any and all valid email addresses. It sucks - you're truly not safe even if you never send an email out to anyone. :?

I'm in the camp that says "it won't ever go away until SMTP is rejiggered". SMTP (the protocol responsible for sending email) was designed in the late 70s and the early 80s when the network was open and trusted, and while it has scaled admirably, it just doesn't cut it in the light of spam. There are a lot of proposals out there, but they're unlikely to gain a foothold for quite some time; it's hard enough to adopt IPv6, which has been finalized for years. That said, tools like SpamAssassin do help.

Judging by my inbox these days I think all the places may have gone :0((( Damn ! Yesterday I had some great offers for a bigger ****. Guess what ? Today I was offered larger breasts. If I can save up then I think I'll go for that "Bride of Frankenstein" look :0))) Actually I get offered 17,000,000 (sevinton miliooon dillars) everyday - I just need to help Benny Billabong transfer cash - he is a relative of Bobby Barnacle the brother of former dictator Joey Joppalopagus ;0)))

Yup. I've been the victim of many such emails. sometimes, I get mails with every variation of my name or close to my name in them.. very annoying.

I also recently got a new E-mail addy as my old one was getting a lot of spam [and so I had to filter out everything except know addys, which isn't making it any easier for me to recieve mail.]

My first Email was bjornkeizers
The new one is bjornkeizers2

And about four days ago, I started getting 4 spam messages a day. All porn. I only used it once to sign up for something, and my family and friends know better then to be careless with my addys... so buggered if I know where they got it.. but they did. The only sure way to stop a spammer is a .357 bullet.

My solution (http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=16986) to spam has met with impeccable success. The downside? It costs me $40/year to have my site hosted and a minute of my time whenever I register/buy something at a website. But since implementing my solution, my Inbox has been kept blessedly free of spam.

And I thought I was the only one?! But I must say that my new brests go very well with my enlarging penis! Very sexy! :)
