Downloaded and "installed" Flashplayer and Shockwave...and doomed Mozilla...help

Yes, I "installed" (within quotation marks since it does not work) and, worst of all, now Mozilla doesn't go beyond "Resolving host www...." except when opening yahoo.com, my home page, so I am now back to Explorer.

I am sick of computers saying you're done when the only thing you're done is a mess.

Yes, I did. In the end the solution (I figure) was to look into Mozilla directory and delete a file that for its date looked as one of the file extensions installed by Macromedia to make it "run".

But, still have no macromedia Shockwave... :(
