I have the Symbol version (same physical card) but using the Socket 2003 drivers on my 2210 and I agree that it is a great card.

So you're using the Symbol Card with the Socket Drivers on your 2215? and it works? Any setup or anything you need to do, or is it just liket he socket card, and you just pop the card in? Thanks..

Oh, and by the way, speaking of WiFi cards, has anyone heard of any WCF11 drivers for WM2003 coming out? Thanks..

I also have a socket card, and it is truly amazing, and very simple setup with my 2215!

They are the exactly the same physical device. To use the Symbol card with the Socket drivers, you need only make sure the 2002 drivers are NOT installed. Just install the drivers and then pop the card in :)

Hmm well then I guess I did break my Symbol card.. A while back I turned off my 3850 with my CF expansion pack plus and my symbol card in it while on AIM and when I turned it back on, the card didn't work, and hasn't since. It still doesn't recognize the card when I put it in my 2215, so I guess it's just a dud now... Thanks for the reply, at least I have a socket card lol

I agree that this is a great card. I bought mine from amazon for $139. But I used the $40 rebate and there was free shipping. I also had a $25 gift card I got from work. I had sold my linksys card (I got it as a gift) for $50 on ebay. So I paid 24 dollars for this card :D

I thought that this was a great card as well until it stopped working 8 months after I purchased it. I have been trying since June to have it repaired under warranty without success. I have e-mailed tech support 6 times, and left numerous messages on their tech support line (you can not speak to anyone). I have received no response.

Think twice before you purchase a Socket Comm. product. You'll be screwed if it breaks.

I was wondering how they are in action. Can you mount a network path as a folder? If I plug in a wireless card I have to remove my memory card. I would *like* to mirror those apps to the network if possible and only use the memory card when I'm out of the house...

I don't think I would bother surfing with this leeetle screen, though mail would be a big plus...

How is it they can make a CF card for wifi and yet there is no SD wifi card without SDIO?

I would expect this could be made. What am I missing here?

CF cards are essentially miniature PCMCIA (PC) Cards which natively support hardware I/O, so saying something like CFIO would be redundant. However, SD was origionally developed as a memory card slot so the "IO" capability had to be added later. :way to go:

i'M LOOKING FOR an SD wi-fi card that does not require SDIO.

I have Siemens SX56 ppcphone with PocketPc 2002.

I don't know how Ambicom fits this

I've got my Linksys CF Wi-Fi card for $30 at local CompUSA......dunno why you guys think $100 is a very good price. Maybe that card is that much better.

The Socket and Symbol cards just simply are much better than the Linksys cards, though they do suffice well enough. The socket card is the easiest, fastest, and most power-efficient card I've ever used, not to mention the smallest I can find.. (Well.. in CF form..)

I agree...the MA701 is a fine card and the "sniffing" software included is great as well. Drivers work flawlessly with WM2003.

Does this card come with any additional software for the Pocket PC? The thing I loved the most about my SanDisk CF WiFi card was the sniffer software that came with it. Since I've not been able to find 2003 drivers for the SanDisk card, I had to get the Ambicom card and use it in conjunction with Boingo's free sniffer app.

I am wondering if it makes sense to invest another $100 in a 2215 for WiFi or just to sell the 2215 and buy a 4000 series with built-in WiFi when it is released.

Any thoughts?

The Dell TrueMobile 1180 CF card is a better deal for $69. It works great on my Ipaq 2215 and the drivers are 802.1x compliant. 802.1x was a requirement for me to be able to get wireless connectivity at work. I also works fine at home with a Linksys 54G router. For those wondering, it uses Agere drivers.

I'm curious to know if anyone has done some side by side power tests with the various CF WiFi cards. I've seen lots of people state that the reason to pay more than twice as much for this card is the simplicity of setup (don't know how much easier it could get than Lynksys' setup) and the power consumption, but I can't seem to find any good comparitive data on power consumption with CF WiFi cards.
