Does anyone have a good solution for storing/sorting/retrieving recipes on a PPC? My wife has become soooo addicted to my old 3835 now and is finding so many uses for it that she never considered. This morning she asked about recipe software and I couldn't think of one. What do YOU use?

I used ListPro. It wasn't the best application for it, but it was what I had.

You might take a look at HanDBase. It is a generic DataBase program but has a tremendous library of dowloadable applicatios built for it. I'd be darn surprised if their isn't a recipe DB or two in the list.

http://www.ddhsoftware.com Just popped over their to get the URL and darned if their isn't a recipe DB in the top downloads list :)

Oh! I would be interested in that one, too. I looked into HanDbase, but it was way to blown up for a simple recipe use. I even thought I might be able to create a template in Flexwallet, but it is all not right.

If any developer reads this, it would be great to have a little program that could record recipes, a list for ingredients and lots of room for the step by step instructions (note form?), but with a function to put it in folders like Flexwallet, or even search it alphabetically... And of course it can't be too chunky of a program, and it should store the information on the memory card (because for a person who really likes this program, there's gonna be a ton of recipes!).

And automatically create shopping lists based on a selected set of recipes... ;)

I did a little more :google: digging into this and found one I think I'm going to try. Here's the address. (http://www.pocket-cook.com/default.htm) We'll see :)

UPDATE: Yuck! Requires pocket access syncronization (which I never liked), Had weird bugs in both the desktop companion and the PPC version. Tried to input a simple recipe with only 5 ingredients and it only displayed 4 of them. When I tried to re-input the 5th, it would erase one of the other 4. I dunno, it seems like the software is still beta-test quality at version 5.1, and thats just wrong. NEXT!

This piece of software would also need to have a PC version to allow you to input recipes on the PC and sync them to the PocketPC.

If you're feeling industrious try out handbase again. It has a forms editor, so that you can customize the interface for use as a Recipe Database, and it has a Desktop version available for use on your regular Windows PC.

If you look in the Handbase Gallery (http://www.ddhsoftware.com/gallery.html) and search for recipe you will find a couple of ready made databases to start with.
