Adjusting Colors To Get Rid Of the 1930/40 Yellow Hue?

I'm the author of the Brighthand post quoted in that blog, and I can acknowledge once again that the trick really works and works well.

I wrote an email to the authors of NYDITOT, and they actually told me they will look into the issue. Here's the complete mail I got back from them:

Thanks you for taking the time to share you finding and offer
suggestions for NVD. Unfortunately, not all applications, including
those from Microsoft, make use of the system colors as they should.
Interestingly, the MS apps would not meet MS's own certification
standards. That is, they "hard code" certain colors such as the "white"
background. Technically, the Pocket PC was not designed to allow for
changes to the system colors so I guess this is the loop-hole.

We have actually looked into similar "color mapping" capabilities for
other reasons in the past. As you can imagine it is a rather difficult
challenge but it is not impossible. To date, we haven't seen a strong
enough business case to justify the effort but perhaps the 1940 issue
may be just that. The biggest challenge is probably how to present this
to the user, particularly the novice. It's definitely something we will
look into but I can't promise anything at this point.

I will make sure to share your RGB settings with other 1940 customers.

I don't know about manufacturers making up for using cheap lcd screens with software hacks... I know it makes it look good and all but I can't helpt but feel shafted if/when I find out something like this happens.
