Too bad they only support the 2215 for now, and it sounds like you need to visit them in person to get it done. Check out <a href="http://www.mobilecomputingsig.com/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=5&t=199">what they can do with phones</a> as well.

- I saw those - unfortunately they really look like a simply cut sticker, while the ones Cozy Phone applies are really cut to fit in detail.

This is very popurlar in Japan (and later Asia) about 3 years ago. The trend die in Asia mainly becuase of copyright issues. Downloading a picture as a personal wallpaper is one thing but sale it openly is another matter.
I hope they have get their act together .. Otherwise FBI may be visiting them soon 8O

Just a FYI, the last trend is "personalized" spray paint graphic .. kind of like what u see in T-Shrit shop.

Why, why would anyone want to do this to their beautiful silver iPaq?

I can't believe the image goes over the screen.

- actually, it isn't. If you take a look at the other pictures, you'll see that the screen is clear...there is; however, a reflection in the screen that may mislead you - sorry...(I didn't replace my WriteShield until after I took the photos).

To have the option cover the screen is an available option, although I'd only consider doing that on phones.

Well, Raytheon is already working on Agama (http://www.raytheon.com/newsroom/briefs/061902.html), a Pocket PC based on iPAQ technology!
Doesn't it look great and... bullet-proof?

Btw, I'm going to paint a nice camo on My PocketPC (http://www.albegor.com/mypocketpc.htm) as soon as I find the time. :Fade-color

- I was told that with all the calls generated that they are planning to allow mail-ins! The owner will be back in touch with me when he irons out the details.

Everyone has different tastes I guess... it's kind of like the different faceplaes I see for various mobile phones... some of those designs are a little too funky for me.

Soft reset in the middle of a firefight in downtown Tikrit anybody?

Hunkered in a bunker playing Snails?

I think Pocket PC's will need to be a bit more reliable before they are ready for military/emergency prime time.

Actually the work I am doing for the DoD with Pocket PCs is all maintenance based, using cameras, checklists, electronic manuals, etc. There is a strong need for ruggidized units, however, as not all conditions are pristine. :)

True that the PPC platform can be unstable, but in controlled environments where there's tight control over the software installed, it's not difficult for me to believe that a PPC would be extremely stable.

In general, I find that the PPC's stability seems to have a direct inverse relationship to the number of 3rd party apps / demos that I install un-install.

I'd think that parcel hook would cause a bit of strain on the unit itself. Especially if the hook were to one day actually be used. ;)

Agreed. The only time I have to soft rest my PPC is when there are so many unused temporary files in it. Too lazy to delete them one by one. Soft reset clears them all.

One of my peers at office only has 1 application installed on his pocket loox, winampaq. We all know how unstable those loox-es are, yet his loox is quite stable, because it is being use only as an mp3 player, nothing else.

interesting idea. i remember seeing similar "skins" available for ipods in the past.
