yet another q about active sync over wifi

After fiddling around with settings per prior threads I was able to successfully sync over wifi, it does seem to move a bit faster. However I have to have it set to work in the nic setting and not internet. When I do this I am unable to use pie for the internet (despite checking the box that it uses the internet). I also tried fiddling with the proxy server setting using my netbios computer name and my nic ip address along with port 80 and socket 4 but no luck. Has anyone out there really ever successfully gotten both active sync and pie to work at the same time?

Yes, all the time... Look at Chris De Herrera's Connection Manager FAQ for help. Note the suggestion to setup everything for Work, Work and Work. Also note the Recommendations section and the comments about modify the Work settings to allow internet access. The page was written for the PPC 2002 OS, but should generally pertain to the WM 2003 OS, AFAIK...

I actually already tried to follow the info in the guides. The thing is it keeps saying it cant connect and that I need to configure a proxy. I don't know why.

also despite every different combonation I can think of (making linksys wap/routers ip the proxy address, making pc ip the proxy address, making computer name the proxy address, nothing will allow it to connect to the internet under the work setting)
