I was looking for information on how can i browse the internet using the GPRS connection on my cell... I tried last night and the only choice i have is to connect it via dial-up... My cell phone is already connected to the internet via GPRS...
So... What I need to know is how to use the GPRS connection of my cellphone on my iPaq using bluethooth...

OK... this is what i want to do...
my celphone company (Rogers) offers GPRS... so i can browse the net using my celphone... what i thought i was able to to was to, instead of browsing using my celphone, i'd like to transfer the GPRS data to my ipaq2210 using bluethooth... is this possible? or do i have to dial in to somewhere to be able to surf the net???
thanks...

I'm not sure about in Canada, but in the US, you need to set up your iPaq to dial *99# (no user name, no password) via Bluetooth.

If you have correctly paired your PDA to your mobile, this should dial into AT&T's GPRS system and, once connected, you'll be able to surf on your iPaq.

If you have any other questions, refer to the following web site:
http://support.attwireless.com/awswls/support/index.jsp

Once you sign in, it will lead you to numerous tutorials as to how to connect your particular device to AT&T GPRS. (Refer to the Device Setup Tools section)

Hope this helps!

Did you click on the "Set up Your Device & Computer/PDA" link under the "Device Setup Tools" link?
Granted, there is no 2200 series listed there, but if you click on any PPC with BT, the procedure should still be the same.
Oh, yeah. What EXACTLY do you mean by "this didn't work?"

i meant that the code *99# is not a valid code... i tried last nigth again and it stayed still... doing nothing but looking for GPRS for over an hour...
and if i try to dial in while my cel-phone already has a connection to GPRS it gives me this message on the PDA... the modem has diconnected....
Then i try it again with the GPRS off... and my cel-phone now tells me... GPS parameters not supported... :bad-words:

Don't your service provider have like an webpage with instructions or a customer service departent where you can call and ask?

Ok, then call AT&T Canada and ask them what the GPRS dial-in code is (you can probably ask the Geek at the store nearest you , as well). The rest of the procedure should remain the same.

The settings on the internet explorer must be correct aftyer connecting to bluetooth. I got as far as connecting bluetooth then having the PDA try to dial some number. You also have to have mMode service with this activated defintially call ATT (611) they will help. I did not further investigate because my service was breaking up so i cancelled service. PLease e-mail me your findings so i can referance them as well. Thank you. [email protected]

I followed the link above for the AT&T help to get connected. It worked like a charm. I have a T68i and an iPaq 5555.

Thanks for the help. :alfdance:
