I have a friend of mine that is using a palm based phone. He is a Mac user running OS X, and wants to be able to connect his phone and sync to his mac, preferrably without running VirtualPC.

Now I recommended that he switch to the Samsung i700 Pocket PC Phone Edition, becasue that is the PPC that his carrier uses.

Is there information out there that will provide me with Rock solid proof that it can be done, and still provide a viable solution for him?

Not to put any pressure on, but this will mean an additional 5 converts to start with from palm to Pocket PC if we can get this done.

Ehm.. why don't you just show him how to sync his Palm with OS X?

A very good question :-D ... What he has is a Palm based phone with a serial cradle, and apparently they don't make a USB cradle for it, so he is currenty not connected. Fortunatly I am not much of a palm guy, so when I mentioned that I had a Pocket PC and showed him my Axim, he thought it was the greatest thing since sliced bread (what was the greatest thing before that?).

So anyways, I know that there is software out there to sync with a mac, but I am not a mac person either so I thought I would ask for help.

... or Missing Sync (http://www.markspace.com/pocketpc.html). I've heard it is more stable than PocketMac.
