There are always people wondering what the cheapest decent card is. I don't know, and I don't think we've ever agreed, but you can check out past discussions using the "Search" function.

A good place to start would be "Best CF Wireless LAN Card?" at http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=9990&highlight=cheap+wireless

On a side note, I have a Dell Truemobile 1180 card. I got it because it would match my Axim. Works great, and wasn't too expensive ($70).

Well lets hope the SD wifi is good cause i bought it
sd card + belkin case + belkin screen protect + 4 in memory reader = $230 cad shipped to my door

it was $93usd for the sd card, i figred that ill listen to alot of mp3's and it would be to have a cf slot free, and i expect that carrying the SD will be a lot smaller then a CF

I use an Ambicom WL1100C-CF card in my iPAQ 2215 (use the latest WM2003 driver from their web site or the Senao drivers).

But if not on a budget, the Socket low power CF card.... Oh, and I just noticed on Socket's web site, they also make a Low Power SDIO WiFI card ... http://www.socketcom.com/product/WL6200-480.asp

I just looked at power draw for the first time... YIKES!!!

Ambicom WL1100C-CF TX <370 mA RX <250mA "stand by" 100mA
Dlink DCF-660W TX <350 mA RX <250mA "power save mode" 80mA
Socket Low Power CF "transmission" 170 to 280 mA Idle <20mA
Socket Low Power SDIO "Transmit" 280mA "Idle" 15 mA
*base on rating listed at the manufacturer's web site.

Even with the Ambicom's power draw, I get about 4 hours of continuous use from my iPAQ. This includes activesync via wifi, surfing the web, etc. Keep in mind, so far, I use the wireless only at home, so when the battery is low, I just charge it.

I've got or Socket card. I get over 4 hrs with this card on my 2210 and I'll sometimes have bluetooth running at the same time. I also run my screen at fairly high brightness.

The Socket card with the latest drivers has been a great combination for me.

You can find the Dell Truemobile 1180 on ebay for $46 shipped. I've been hunting for a few days now and thats the cheapest I've seen. Is it the best? I really don't know, but I do know It'll work in my Ax.

I use an Ambicom WL1100C-CF card in my iPAQ 2215.
I agree that this is a great card. I use it with my 2215 and it seems to have very low battery drain. I got it at BestBuy for $60 and it had an additional $10 rebate.

I took advantage of one of those Dell TrueMobile 1180 CF cards that was on eBAY. The seller was very quick to get it shipped to me. I got it three days after I payed by PayPal. The card works great with the drivers from the enclosed CD on my iPAQ H2210. Now I'm having fun driving around looking at all the interesting SSID names that pop up on WinC.

Sorry to bump this back up, but does the Dell TrueMobile 1180 CF card work with PPC 2003?

YES, IT DOES. A friend of mine bought the CF 1180, toasted his 2002 X5, and got a refurbished X5 with WM2003.
