Why are some keyboards for the iPAQ more than Others?

I was looking at keyboards for my 2215. I see that the brand new keyboards come in a variety of price. The IR keyboards are only 80 CAN and the un IR keyboards (dont know their official name) are 140 CAN. WHY oh WHY is there a huge difference in price?

What differences justify the huge mark up, or is it a mark up or product cost?

My guess would be that the IR keyboards can work with more then one model where the hardware snap-in keyboards only work on one model. That means that they will sell less of them, thus they charge more.
