Outlook reminders when program is closed

Is there a way to have Outlook reminders come up on the screen if Outlook happens to be closed? This was an option with my old Palm via Alarm Manager. Perhaps 3rd party software available?

Tasks and appointments with reminders in Pocket Outlook will automatically remind you, even if Outlook is closed and/or your PPC is off.

You might go to Start>Settings>Notifications and select the 'Reminders' event to verify you have have 'Display message on screen' checked.

Trachy: Sorry, did not make myself clear in the original post - I am looking for the reminders to pop up on my DESKTOP if Outlook is closed. It is working correctly on my Dell Axim
