Hi Everyone...

I have been looking out on the T-Mobile site. They have a plan in which a Pocket PC can have GPRS tri-band frequency connections (1900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 900 MHz) with unlimited data tranfer for $29 a month... The price is right for the monthly fee... Thier 'Sierra Wireless AirCard 750' is supported with Pocket PC 2002. The trouble is, that card is a standard PC card and my Dell Axim does not have a PC Card slot... It does have a Compact Flash slot, however....

Does any one know of a Compact Flash vendor who sells a card with the same functionality as the 'Sierra Wireless AirCard 750' card... except in a Compact Flash configuration? I have had no luck finding such an animal on the web.

Thanks!

Try a web search (Google or AllTheWeb) for "CF GPRS" ?

How about a CF to PCMCIA adapter? Just did a quick search on Google and came up with http://www.semsons.com/comflastopcc.html.

However, they also referenced some voltage issues between CF and PCMCIA.

Good luck.
Cheers,
Adrian.

Or even get a Bluetooth CF card and a Bluetooth mobile phone. You could probably get both for the price of the Sierra card plus you'd have a phone too.

This would also allow you to use a BT access point if you have a broadband connection at home (I know it's not wifi but I just looking for more ways to justify the BT route  )

As far as I remember T-Mobile has unlimited data with any voice plan and they start at $19.99.
