View Full Version : How to make ActiveSync's COM port stay put at COM5?

I have successfully setup BT activesync with my 2215 and Belkin dongle. However, everytime I startup the computer, Activesync has reset the COM port back to default COM1, I am tired of changing this everytime I want to sync. Is there a way to setup activesync to keep the COM port setting I choose? maybe a reg hack? Thanks!

How did you get ActiveSync to not use COM1 and use COM5? Mine is always stuck on COM1.

Once I installed my Belkin BT dongle, it installed COM ports 3 thru 15 ! 8O ! that can be chosen from.

i havnt recieved my dongle yet, but if you have your cradle or synch cable plugged in, could it be possible that activesynch is defaulting to that port?
what happens if you unplug the synch cable?

justa thought... :?

Actually it's not even plugged in (the cradle that is).
