I happen to still have an old iPaq 3600 cradle. I recently took it apart, filed off the plastic stud that used to insert into the female charger cavity on the iPaq, and removed the cables so I can use it as a stand for my 5555.

I understand that you can't use the 3600 cradle connector with the iPaq 5555 for data transfer, but could you use it to charge a 5555? If so, I can rethread the power cable and permanantly remove the data cable. I'm even thinking about mounting it on the dash in my pickup.

Can anyone out there advise me on whether the 3600 cradle will charge the 5555 without frying it?

It won't. I doubt that you'll even get it to sit in the cradle right. The connectors are completely different on the 3600 series iPAQ.

Kind Regards,

Okay, thanks. Maybe I can rig it up with the dongle to charge. It does sit in the cradle just fine - after you remove the stud.
