I am using a Canon i70 mobile printer in my daily work and am looking for a good small case to put it in while it's in my rolling office case. The printer dimensions are 12" x 7" x 2". I need a small case to enclose it while it's in my Wenger rolling office to protect it while rolling it around. Anybody got any suggestions? It doesn't need to be flashy just functional.

thanks,

Off the top of my head I'd say a size 13 shoe box  but then my serious side wonders if you want any protection for it or if you just need to keep it seperate from everything else. About the only other thing that springs to mind is possibly a Pelican case (http://www.pelican.com) (1420 series (http://www.pelican.com/cases/1bo_1420.html), a medium size (http://www.pelican.com/cases/medium_k_selection.html) or large size (http://www.pelican.com/cases/large_k_selection.html)) but that's probably overkill for your needs. There're also their custom cases (http://www.pelican.com/cases/cases1.html) if necessary.

Yes to both- protection and separation. I'm even thinking a laptop sleeve of some sort might work. It's also to prevent ink spillage in the event of a major bad event while mobile. :)

I would look for a CD carry case at an office supply or electronics super store. After you get the case, toss the insides in the trash and you have an inexpensive ( between $10-$20 US) protective zippered case.

I have a Fellows CD case that measures 6" x 12" x 2.25" when closed and it has been carrying my Canon BJC 50 for years (even enough room for a few ink tanks). I have used other smaller CD cases for laptop accessories like; spare batteries or removable CD/DVD or Zip drives.

They're waterproof, so I'd assume they're also ink-proof. ;) AFAIK, the Pelican cases have foam that can be plucked out in places to get a nice, snug fit. The I420 model may best suit your needs of the suggestions I suggested due to its size.
