Is iPAQ File Store = the SD Card.
I have an SD Card 128 MB but it shows in Memory/storage card 3.34 as Total storage card memory. What is happening?

I use the Flash format on my 2200 and it cannot detect the storage card. Is the card faulty.
Actually when the SD card is inserted will any alerts or prompts be displayed on the screen?

The iPaq store is a bit of RAM that is set aside for data to be saved during a hard reset.
You should be able to see your SD card in explorer or the memory program.

"You should be able to see your SD card in explorer or the memory program"
No I don't see it at all.
But when I go to Settings \ About \ version , when the card is inserted the Expansion slot shows "In Use" and when remove it shows "Not in Use".
HP wants me to sent my ipaq back for diagnostic, but I want the SD card to be replaced.
What do you think?

Actually, the file store is in ROM not RAM. It's basically what is left over from storing Windows in ROM, which for the 2210 is aprox 3MB.
As for your SD card, it should show up in file explorer as a folder called "\SD Card".
The iPaq store is a bit of RAM that is set aside for data to be saved during a hard reset.
Technically, the iPAQ Filestore is ROM (not RAM) that's not being used by the operating system. Compaq/HP made the unused portion available for additional file storage. Being ROM, it has the advantage of being unaffected by power loss and hard resets, but it will still be deleted during any ROM flashes, such has O/S upgrades or service packs.
As for the problem at hand... what version of iPAQ? There is a patch available for the 3900 series that fixes this problem. Another fix may be to remove the card, perform a soft reset, and reinsert the card. iPAQs have been known to "lose" the card if it's installed during a soft reset. Doing the reset without the card, then adding it later seems to "kickstart" it.

thank you but tried that and done that.
I try a card with "palm" marking and it work, it was detected with file explorer. My SD card has "compaq" markings and it came with the ipaq 2200. What are the chances that HP will give me a replacement, i bought it through HP Direct.

Hello,
I have just bought my 1945 and when I tried to use an SD card from Sandisk (128Mb), my iPaq couldn't recognize it. The Settings/About says that the expansion slot is in use (or not, if the card is removed), but there's no folder called SDIO. :-(
I visited the Sandisk website and they have a different SD card, called SD Expansion card, with an gray tag (the one I have has an blue tag).
Any suggestions to make the card work? Is this a "normal" problem with iPaqs?
Thank you all.

I have taken it back to HP and was informed that one of the pin in the ipaq is bend. They need 3 days to fixed it. Therefore I have no choice to leave it with them.
