I am not sure if anyone has discuss this before but I am having the hardest time finding a solution. My question is . . . Is there a way to make WMP not load "Local Content" first or not load at all ?
First of all, I have an axim with wifi on wm2k3 and is using resco to map an network folder under my device so it shows up in my devices. I needed this because it was the most simple way for me to stream all my desktop music to my pocket and it does work great. Ever since I mapped the network folder in my devices, media player takes like 5 minutes to load and 20 minutes to pop up playlists. The light on my truemobile card flashes like crazy. I think the reason that it does that is because it is gathering all the supported media files off my network. That is nice but . . . I am not using wmp for that reason but to play asx streams. When I unplug the wifi card, everything sped up and was back to normal. So i went further and unmaped my network folder and wmp was all speedy again even when my wifi card was in there.
So, is there a way to make WMP not load local content first ? Or anything i can do to work around it besides wait? Even better . . . does anything else play .asx and .wma streams besides conduits pocket player so then I can keep my easy access to desktop music and be able to listen to .asx streams fast ?
Sorry for the somewhat long post . . . any help at all is greatly appreciated !
