Hello there, first posting for me!
I have just upgraded to an H.P. 5550 running Pocket P.C. 2003. I am running Microsoft Money 2002 on my P.C. and I have tried to download Microsoft Money 2002 for the Pocket P.C. It says that it is not compatible with Pocket P.C. 2003.
Do I have to wait for Pocket P.C. Money 2003 to come out or is there a way round this?
Many thanks.
Ian.

I know someone had a workaround for this to get PPC Money 2002 working on Windows Mobile 2003, but I'm not sure what the workaround is. However, as far as waiting for PPC Money 2003, you're a little late. There's already a PPC Money 2004, however it's only compatible with Money 2004, as far as I know.

You can find the workaround on the thread linked below. I tried it and it works, but, I opted just to go ahead and get Money 2004 which has the PPC install.

The workaround does work, although I've found that tap-and-hold doesn't work (e.g. can't delete entries). Money 2004 sounds good, except that it won't be released here in the UK until 5th September!

If I was to wait for Money 2004 to come out; when I install it on my P.C. will it "roll over" my Money 2003 files or will i have to re-enter all my data? Also, is 2004 going to be compatible with ppc 2003?????

Money for Pocket PC 2004 is already available and it works perfectly on my 2215. As far as syncing it did keep all my info and syncs fine for me with Money 2003.

Money 2004 should install over the top of Money 2003 (leastways M2003 did with M2002), and it'll convert your existing files.

While Money 2004 may be already available in the US, here in the UK (and, probably, Europe) have to wait for it - as I said above, the UK release date is 5th September.

Does it bother anyone else that we get a new OS and suddenly one of the most popular and widely used software packages from the same company stops working? Personally, I use Money to track my budget and control my expenses just like everyone else and I think that having to buy a new version of the software when the existing one suits my needs just fine is a waste of MY money.

Shame, shame, Microsoft for not making your own product compatible with your new flaghsip OS for the PPC. :( Boo, hiss...

According to this post, the new Money for PPC syncs with the Money 2003 on the desktop. Here is the link to download the new Money for PPC if you want to try it for youself. http://www.microsoft.com/money/support/downloads/downloads.asp

Personally, I've just used it the Money 2004 on the desktop, so I can't attest to it working with older versions of Money.

I've already tried downloading Money 2004 for PPC and running it. I got an error message to the effect is that it could not find a desktop version of Money, even though I have Money 2003 (and Money 2002 before that), and warning that if I entered data on the PPC, installing a desktop version of Money later would overwrite my data.

You get the desktop message because the programers at Micro$oft think we are all loaded with cash. The installer only looks for Money 2004. 2003 still working great for me
