Still, I'm not quite sure what kinds of glances I'd get if I wore this on a NYC subway. ;)

Let me introduce .... FBI agent Janak.
Is that a mobile phone, or a gun under your jacket ?

Wearing this in the airport as you go thru security inspections would also raise a few
eyebrows. I'm not sure I'd want the extra attention (perhaps even body cavity search?)

I wanted this a while ago to when I first saw a buddy of mine with one in NYC. He use to wear it under his jacket. I always tought it was cool. But I guess now that it's post 911 this really isn't the sort of thing I would wear "ALL" the time.

Geez, with a little more work they could turn it into a bra... or a man-siere/bro.

Hey guys...whilst I don't profess to be the sole arbiter of good taste.......Just say no to this 'man-bra' device! or is it just the worlds smallest rucksac. Either way you decide

OYE! Sheesh! If you're gonna buy this, then you might as well just tattoo "Loser Dork" on your forehead as well!

i swear, the way some men walk around with cellphones , let alone anything else, on their hips reminds me of gun toting times. plus they even seem to swagger sometimes. and at least it beats a 'man-purse' in terms of being a bit more stylish. of course, as others have pointed out, such a 'fashion' accessory could be misconstrued in this paranoid age. imagine getting shot while reaching for your pocket pc. plus, i can see some guys attaching their wallets to this thing with rubber bands, or duct tape.

Figuring I _hate_ belt clips for phones, pdas, keys and the like, I could never picture myself wearing this...ever. This can do the reputation of PPC owners only harm
Just say no Kids.
Now where is that Bat Utility Belt.....

This looks terrible and is like the kind of thing that would be worn by a sad geek who pretends to be in the SAS or Marines or something (http://www.bbc.co.uk/comedy/theoffice/gareth/index.shtml).
Come on! I got the michael ripped out of me for just wearing a phone on my belt, I'd never be seen dead with something like this!

As handy as this might be, the looks you'd get [and attention at the airport 8O ] aren't worth it.

I've been wearing an e-Holster leather version since they came out. I feel the need to carry my home phone (we don't have a land line anymore) the work provided phone, the iPAQ, and the stowaway keyboard. Yes for fasion sake I could stuff all that in my pockets or try and look 'normal' and wear most of it on my belt but it doesn't work for me.
the belt thing - tried it and quit.
1. In detroit trying to dig out a cell phone below a winter coat in the car with the shoulder belt is tough. When the phone rings i reach around and get it within seconds.
2. For the belt clips i had; the phones would end up in the car when they escaped from the clip and i didn't know it.
3. stuff in the pockets? see item 2.
4. I don't know how you guys and gals drop your pants in the bathroom with that extra pound of gear. Maybe i'm physically challenged but I found that to be a hassel i could do without. I kept seeing in my minds eye the iPAQ flipping up into the air - doing a double twist half gainer and then make a perfect entry into the bowl.
5. All the talk of trouble in airports etc is silly. I have never had any trouble anywhere. the worst it gets is going into some sites at work that don't allow cameras so they have to make sure none of the compartments are holding.
6. How would you walk the halls in an scott e-vest or go outside in the summer? I don't get it.
7. a bag gets left places. I have littered the planet with pens and umbrellas. with my eholster i have a place that is always there. It has also allowed me to hang on to my treasured Lamy pen since i have a consistent place to always go with it as well as the laser pointer.
An unexpected plus has been the reaction at my daughters school. The boys that hang out with her all want an e-holster. The other day I was just going to carry the ipaq and home phone so i switched to a bag for a change. My daughter complained that the bag didn't look right. 8O
Grow up people - if you find you are putting up with the hassels I found with those other solutions because of looks - be a trend setter and enjoy the benefits. 8)

In some profession where you have to wear a jacket pretty much all the time. This is great.
I would prefer this over e-Vest since you just wear this under your any jacket, vest of your choice...
I was tempted several occasions to get an e-Vest but I always have the following concerns:
1-Cost: e-Vest are expensive
2-Can not try/ touch/feel before buying
3-I live in a fast chaging climat
4-My job requires sometime formal dress code (see customers, etc.)
Another idea: If you are wearing a backpack, you just need to by the e-pouch...to carry your PDA for easy access (too bad, they use Velcros, a magnet system would be better)

Wouldn't overactive underarm glands pose a risk of damaging the equipment?

OMG - I thought the same thing. I was like, "whoa, that guy looks like Hollis_f!" So... is it coincidence, or is Hollis_f using that guy's picture?

The photo is of a character from a British comedy called 'The office' that is flippin' hillarious and has won lots of awards.
If anyone gets a chance to watch it, then watch it - but the comedy is very British (quite subtle and there's no canned laughter to tell you what bits are supposed to be funny) so maybe misunderstood by some.

I'm so glad someone else pointed out "The Office" reference. I loved it when Tim kept calling Gareth on his cell phone to make him look like an idiot. This show is a riot.

Not to drag this off-topic any more then it already is... If you follow the links and look at the characters, the pic that hollis_f uses is on one of the pages...
Now get back on topic...

Steve This is on topic. In one episode of The Office, Gareth (who, I must admit, looks nothing at all like me) does come in wearing his mobile phone in a holster that looks just like this one. And he, deservedly, had the pi$$ ripped out of him something rotten.
Blimey - even my handbag^H leather gadget-bag looks less stupid than one of them.

Scott,
This holster uses what they call a PAN which is
"Create a PAN The revolutionary design of the e-Zio Case System collaborates with its owner's body and their personal electronics to provide the "physical infrastructure" required to create a comfortable and fully mobile personal area network (PAN)."
This sounds like the evests "TECHNOLOGY ENABLED CLOTHING (TEC) ™ has developed a system to conceal conduits inside garments, and is proud to announce its patent pending, Personal Area Network (PAN). The PAN allows you to connect electronic devices to each other and to headsets, using a hidden conduit system. For example, it allows you to connect a cellphone to a hands-free headset, or an MP3 or CD player to headphones. From the exterior of the garment, you cannot see the conduit system. The PAN can be easily adapted to any upper body garment, such as coats, sport jackets, shirts, vests, and so on. We are currently seeking selected licensees of our TECHNOLOGY ENABLED CLOTHING (TEC)™ process."
Are they also a liscensee?
