Hello all
I'm looking for a "Tasks" replacement that
1. Shows the category associated with the task on summery view.
2. Uses the same database as the default PocketPC 2003 tasks, so that it sync's w/ Outlook fine, and can view the same information in "Tasks".

I've tried out Pocket Informant 4, and I find it too messy. The basic calendar and contact list that come with PocketPC are fine and I don't need them replaced. Although I do like the Pocket Informant 4's Task list, I could do without the other stuff.

Thanks for the tips!

I too rely on Tasks and really can not stand to even look at the built-in Tasks tool for PPC. I tried Pocket Informant but thought it to be a bit cluttered. I tried PocketDay while it was still being developed and exchanged a few notes with the developer to make Tasks a bit more intuitive. Problem is this app ran really slow on my 5450.

I finally tried Agenda Fusion and must admit that it has the best looking Tasks tool I have seen. I can set the view to see current and/or future tasks. All tasks are identified by small user defined icons that represent categories. You can also change the Task view to group by category. Finally I have a Tasks view that looks and works like the Today view in Outlook.

Well I tried Agenda Fusion, and although I did like it more then Pocket Informant, I still found the entire thing just too bloated with features that I didn't need.

I think I'm getting use to just using the standard Pocket PC "Tasks" program. The QuickTasks add-in for the today screen is also quite nice. I just use the category drop down to assist in finding the tasks associated w/ my classes.

Still looking for a better replacement. Something that lists the tasks according to categories (either through grouping or listing), and is simple to add a task that has a subject/category/due date w/o having to open the full new task entry form.

I might have to download the SDK and make my own here :)

You might wanna try Arrivo Montego SE. You can find info about it at http://www.arrivosoft.com/ArrivoMontegoComponentsEnglish.html
There is also a German Version available under the name Pocket Mirage Extender... 8)

Or, Scarybear software (http://www.scarybearsoftware.com/ppc_software.html) has QuickTasks for PPC that works great as both a Today screen plugin and an all-around task manager. It's not chock full of pretty features and such, but it's a great little task app. Give it a look!
