Baffled

At work today.... I turned my V35 on and discovered half the screen was out of commission. The right side of the screen had vertical lines running the length of the screen (kind of like the test screen you used to see when the local T.V. station would run it's emergency broadcast, but thinner lines). Definitely not the "I cracked the screen, it's totally @#$!*&" look. Initially ran a soft reset.... nothing. Tried several hard resets to no avail. I'm currently on hold (yawn) with the Viewsonic technical support line. Anyone have any suggestions while my beard grows many inches??? :|

How do you carry it to work? Is it in a briefcase? Do you have a it in a case?

I have it in a Franklin Covey leather case that seems to protect it good enough. I tend to baby it... don't throw it around or leave it lying around just anywhere. That's why I'm so confused about the matter. I've seen posts here that describe premature screen death from overusing, but I don't consider myself in that category.
