Hello All,

I finally replaced my Nokia 3360 with a Nokia 6200. Now I'm up and running (uh...stumbling???) with all the GSM/GPRS big boys.

My main reason for getting a GSM/GPRS phone was to access the internet through it with my PocketPC. I haven't set it the GPRS connection on my PocketPC yet, but I know I'll be able to get that running in due time.

What I really want to do right now is be able to transfer files between my PocketPC and my Nokia 6200. Files like pictures, ringtones, and wallpapers. I'm downloaded Nokia's PC Suite from Nokia's website. This program does to my Nokia phone what ActiveSync does for my PocketPC. But Nokia PC Suite only runs on a Windows PC. I'd really like to be able to do some of the file transfers with my PocketPC.

Has anyone been able to transfer files between an Nokia phone and a PocketPC? I there is good GPRS connectivity software for the PocketPC, but maybe I'm looking for more specific cell-phone customization software.

Thanks in advance.

Hm aren't the files for the cell phone and the PDA going to be in a totally different format?

No...not really. The Nokia 6200 (and other phones based on the Symbian OS, Series 40) uses JPEG format to store pictures and wallpapers. I would just have to scale down the JPEGs that I tranfer to my 6200 from my desktop PC, or else they would take up too much memory on the phone.

It's the same with ringtones. The 6200 uses standard MIDI file format for ringtones. There are several programs that let you compose your own ringtones on your desktop pc and then transfer them to your cell phone, but no programs yet for the PocketPC.

I just want to transfer files from my PocketPC to my Nokia 6200.
