I'm not sure how to describe this, but it happens on my PC at work, where I do a lot of forum reading in my spare time. :)

Everything looks normal for a while, and then suddenly things start to get out of kilter. Lines get on top of other lines, or get repeated multiple times, and it keeps getting worse until the whole screen is scrambled. Sometimes switching back and forth between windows helps somewhat, but eventually I even lose the scroll bars and the top of the screen so I have to close IE from task manager.

My work PC is Windows 2000, and I don't have any control over what's installed on it (they load things remotely in the middle of the night), but I don't think any big changes have happened lately. They try to keep anything entertaining off of the PCs, so I don't have Flash, for instance, but I never had any trouble with the forums here until recently, and now this happens all the time.

Does it sound like it could have anything to do with some of the more lively banner ads?

It sounds like a video driver issue, possibly a conflict between the video driver and Flash, but certainly a video driver issues. Can you request a video driver upgrade from your IT department?

Not likely! In my position, under the bottom of the corporate ladder, if I even mentioned such a thing, they'd probably take away my internet access -- I'm lucky to even have it -- most people around me don't, as it's not considered necessary for our work. Better to put up with scrambled forums than risk losing them altogether. But thanks anyway.
