So, just bought the new router and 802.11b CF card today. Is it possible to ActiveSync with the desktop utilizing the WiFi network? Or, do I have to go bluetooth for that functionality?

It's possible, I do it all the time, much faster than USB, and seems to have a lot less problems. You need work/work/work settings and this network connects to the internet. As long as you do not use a proxy server it will work great.
