I am attempting to run telnet from my PPC. This invovles using software such as the good old DOS edit command. The problem is that the PPC keyboard doesn't have an ALT or ESC key, this makes it very hard to get the the file menu (ALT+F). Is there a way to configure the keyboard to include these keys? Is the some third party software that will allow me to use these keys?

I assume that he's referring to the SIP virtual keyboard. Why would people assume anything else unless specified otherwise?

Sadly, I haven't found any SIP keyboards with ALT or ESC.

If it is a software keyboard (SIP) you are looking for. The Calligrapher program, though a handwriting recognition input (very similar to Transcriber but much better IMHO) has a separate keyboard which you can activate while Calligrapher is your active SIP, I just checked and it has ALT, CTRL and ESC keys.

Whether it transmits them via your telnet connection I wouldn't know, but I can use it to do CTRL+C or CTRL+V for copy or paste, so maybe it would work. However it does cost a fair bit, check the website for exact pricing details www.phatware.com, especially if you are not going to use the handwriting recognition part of the software.

Hope this helps,
