As Ed already posted, the H3900 series Pocket PC 2003 upgrades are orderable and shipping. I am waiting for mine as we speak! HP now also takes orders for H5450 upgrades. Upgrades for H3800 series are rumoured to be released in late September.

I followed the link in Ed's post and saw that the 38xx upgrade was on the list. I placed my order and the system accepted it. The entry said it would ship on 9/5, but I won't hold my breath. :| No E-mail confirmation yet on shipping.

Update:
Figures, I no sooner hit Submit and the confirmation comes in. Says it's estimated ship date is 9/5.

Upgrades for the 5400 series have been availible for some time, correct? I ordered mine sometime in mid-July. I just want to make sure I don't have to re-place my order.

Any chance they will ever upgrade the 37XX? Amazing that something less than 2 years old is obsolete (purchase date, not manufacturing date).

Which iPAQ do you have?? I ordered my upgrade for my 3955 about a week ago, still no shipping confirmation.

The upgrade was ordered about fourteen day...but the wait seemed longer.

What's obsolete? I don't about you but I have no intention of upgrading my 5450. I have already reloaded my device from scratch for various reasons (updates/crashes) five or six times and have no interest to do it again. My PPC 2002 device is very stable and I intend to keep it that way.

Now if someone from HP wants to come to my house, pay ME $29,95 and then proceed to reinstall my 35+ 3rd party applications and then setup all of my preferences, that's just fine with me.

In another 3-4 months I will probably be looking to unload my 5450 in search for something better. Whomever is lucky enough to buy it for $150-$200 can go right ahead and upgrade.

It's not really the end of the world.

Despite HP UK still saying on their site that the upgrades would be orderable from beginning of August there is still no sign of them. HP are noy selling them themselves and only direct you to their resellers, each of whom I have called and know no details yet of these upgrades!

same old same old...

I cannot understand why all OEMs delay so much with their upgrades. Windows Mobile 2003 is available to OEM since the beginning of April...
I know for sure (I cannot tell how), that the upgrade for the 39xx, 54xx and the Dell Axim is available since mid-June...

I've got a Jornada 568, my wife has an iPaq 3835. I ordered her Pocket PC 2003 upgrade today, but couldn't find one for my Jornada.

Anyone out there know if HP plans on offering this upgrade to Jornada users? (Or if they already have it and I'm just blind?)

Nope. They are only offering upgrades for the 3800, 3900 and 5400 series. No Jornadas, iPAQ 3100, 3600, 3700 or 1900 series.
