"Declining to delve into further detail, T-Mobile promised improvements both to the processor and memory of the upcoming MDA. Does it appear a little narrower to anyone else? That was really one of the less desirable features about the original. Let's hope! Anyone have dimensions on it?

Everything about this smells of the XDA-II. If so... then we are talking Bluetooth baby!!!!!

I was suppose to go today and by the 2215. Do I wait???? do I buy it and use it for the 3 months until this comes out? I wanted to by the Orange phone with BT later this year... WAY TO MANY DECISIONS!

This looks very nice...but where's the CF?? That would make it just about perfect.

w00t! That's the XDA II! :D

According to the specs that have been released on it, this will be the PPCPE that I can finally "converge" on, and carry one device. Fast enough processor (X-Scale 400MHz), 16-bit color screen, 64MB RAM, SDIO, Bluetooth.

Now I'll be anxiously waiting for it to become available in the U.S., which will probably be sometime next year.

Yay! :D

Do you really think it will take that long for the device to be available here?
I would think it would behoove T-Mobile to make the device available in time for Q4 sales of this year...

I am so definitely getting this. Its like some-one has actually been listening, and decided to give us all our wishlist.

Finally a pocketpc with bluetooth, 64Mb, GPRS, 16 bit colour, camera.

I hope this gets to the UK before christmas, cos I know what santa will be leaving me under the tree then :)

PS: and either they got some-one with a giant hand, or that thing is really really small....

PPS: This device should definetely have the new x-scale processors, right (since the old defective ones should have been phased out by now...)

I was thinking the same thing. Man if they could somehow make it the same size as the 2215 I would be in heaven. The 2215 is really about as big and heavy as I want to carry around on a regular basis.

Well, I was basing my statement on the information that O2 hoped to have it available by Q4'03 or Q1'04 in Europe, and I was factoring in the inevitable delay in bringing it to the U.S., putting it somewhere in Q1 or Q2 of next year.

However, the Infosync article linked in the story says it's "slated for arrival by the end of this year," although it's not clear whether they mean T-Mobile will have it available in Germany or the U.S. by the end of this year.

The sooner it's available, the better, if you ask me. :D

I know there are dozens of details involved in putting something to market, most of which I have no clue, but still isn't it amazing how long it takes electronic items to get to market?!!!
Only in the past 60 days has the Samsung i700 been available, yet photos of the thing were being revealed last year!
I know, I know - there are processes that need to take place, i.e.: FCC applications, etc etc...

But for those of us who are bleeding-edge users, we can't forget about a cool device from the moment we see it! And then we are tortured for months and months, waiting for the item to be available!

JoshB, you are probably right - Infosync is likely talking about Europe... maybe we'll get lucky, but given the track record I mentioned above, 2004 seems reality for a US version...

But hey - that will be 3 or 4 devices later for me (at the rate I'm going!)...
