Hey all,

I was recently given a broken, warranty-expired SanDisk SD card. I've been trying to get the thing to work, but no luck; my handheld (a Toshiba e310, for what it's worth) simply won't recognize the card. Since no other handhelds will recognize it either, and since my other memory card works fine on my Toshiba, the problem is undoubtedly the SD card. I know that SanDisks have a habit of breaking down, but I'd like to get this one to work since I could use the space. Any suggestions?

Try Flash Format (http://www.cnetx.com/format/) and see if you can repair it.

That happened to one of my cards too. Luckly it was still under worrenty. Sorry I couldn't have been of help.

No worries, and thanks for the recommendation anyway.

Doesn't the Toshiba E310 have dual expansion slots?
If so, buy yourself a nice Lexar Media CF card for a cheaper price than the equivalent SD Card
If not, buy a Lexar Media SD card. They have the best history of reliability and come with a 5-year warranty :)

Zaphod, you seem to want to postpone the inevitable. Try Softwinter's Storage Tools. Maybe it can find a way to format the card. Frankly, it sounds hopeless.
