I've noticed that I'll find a PPC game that I love, buy it, play it to death for a few weeks, and then rarely touch it ever again. What's the lifecycle like for everyone?

I voted on what I do for Nintendo games. I have a bunch of games on my pocket pc but I usally only play Diamond Mine. The rest of the games on there are for my brother.

I've been playing Slay for about two years now. I never seem to get tired of it.

For me, Hexacto's Lemonade Inc. was one of these games I played intensely for a while, but now I hardly ever touch it. I played the demo and enjoyed it enough to puchase it. However, after I got all the upgrades, the game has become pretty redundant.
A good game is able to keep you playing for a long period of time. I'll never get tired of Age of Empires and Sim City 2000! Diamond Mine has good replay value too.
Goodness Diamond Mine is fun to play. Other than that the only things I have that I play are NES games and Pocket Fritz.

extensively played games like eggs, argentum, arkaball, odyssey .... for 2 weeks each. and got bored with them already. need a more complex game on PPC .. like neverwinter nights, baldur's gate, etc.

I am waiting for something more complex too. Diamond Mine, CubeHead and others are fine for a few minutes here and there, but don't have the "just one more turn" compulsion of some of my favourite PC strategy games.
There is a version of Warlords II imminent and that could be a keeper.

4 Winds are about to release their PPC version of MahJong (the real 4-player game, not the solitaire tile matching game) and that is fun.
I think there is some advantage to recycling earlier PC strategy titles like Warlords that had depth and playability but don't require enormous resources.

Boy am I looking forward to this one!
I agree that some of the older strategy title are great for the PPC. I am currently getting into Pocket War (ahhh memories of hours, days lost playing empire on an original IBM PC when I should have been writing essays at Uni  ) and I still play A of E pretty regularly. Another one that I reckon would be a keep would be a port of Warcraft - of which rumours seem to surface every now and then.
Apart from that I load lots of games on my PPC and will play them a few times then not touch them again Fortunatley a lot of the more expensive games have pretty playable demos that let you get a real feel for whether it is one that you would want to fork out the cash for.

What is Pocket Fritz?
Pocket Fritz 2 (http://www.chessbase.com/shop/product.asp?pid=152&user=&coin=) is a chess partner with mobility built in. Take it with you wherever you go and leave boredom behind. Pocket Fritz 2 is much stronger than its predecessor and has an estimated blitz performance rating of 2450 Elo points. The younger brother of the world’s strongest chess program has made great strides in the area of design, functionality and user friendliness. New pieces and board colours, formatted, colour-coded notation, all contribute to optimum clarity, even in deeply annotated games. The moves of the computer as well as hints and threats are displayed with coloured arrows.
Pocket Fritz 2 has many diverse playing levels that make it an entertaining opponent, while the database functions and new commentary options fulfil the needs of even strong professional players. The program gives you mobile access to the ChessBase Online database with well over two million games. There you can search for the games of specific players, tournaments or openings. You also have online access to a giant state-of-the-art openings book with over seven million positions and full statistics for each of them. Other new functions: extended, user-friendly move entry and annotation; automatic game replay with adjustable speeds; special energy-saving mode for longer battery life. Have fun, play chess. Anywhere and everywhere with Pocket Fritz!
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Pocket Fritz runs on Pocket PCs with Windows Mobile 2003 (Pocket PC 2003), Pocket PC 2002, Windows CE 3.0, with the processors MIPS, SHG, ARM or Xscale. Installation requires a PC (notebook or desktop computer). Language of user interface and helpfile: English, Spanish, Italian, French, Dutch
Personally I prefer ChessGenius v1.4 (http://www.chessgenius.com/pocketpc/index.html) because it only costs $25 (instead of $50) and has lifetime free UPDATES. It is not quite as strong as Pocket Fritz 2 according to the articles that I have read but at around 2300 it's more than strong enough for me!
Goodness Diamond Mine is fun to play. Other than that the only things I have that I play are NES games and Pocket Fritz.

Very, very nice chess program. I haven't found any mobile chess engine nearly as powerful as it.

"Legacy" is a fun RPG. It's almost identical to Might and Magic 1-3 from the early PC days, or Bards Tale. And there's a LOT of content

Worms World Party satisfies me over and over again.

I can play Quake and Doom 2 forever. Once I finished Fade, I never have played it again. I played Pocket Fritz for a while, but got bored. As you can see, it depends on the game for me.
By the way, I REALLY want a port of "Jig" to the PPC!

I have about three games that I play over and over.
ChessGenus
Pocket Slay
FreeCell
All my other games I just play every once in a while.

One that I got tired of really fast was Anthelion. I got stuck on a mission - the controls are mediocre and my 2210 always has some message come up and screw the game up
A classic that I never get tired of is Solitaire. That game is fun. I also like Age of Empires, Tower Mogul and Sim City 2000. Although, Sim City is boring as I have Sim City 4 + Rush Hour Expansion on my main PC.

The one game I can honestly say I keep going back to over and over is Kevtris.

Only a very few games have managed to keep my interest for longer than a week.
Warefare inc (http://www.handmark.com/warfare/) is an awesome RTS in the veign of Starcraft. Lots of replay value, and manages to make a fairly complex game work on the PPC.
Ziosoft (anyone remember them?) also had a version of Age of Empires that was pretty cool. Fun game that kept me playing for a decent amount of time.
And finally... NetHack (http://www.nethack.org/v343/ports/download-wince.html) is a very very addictive game, if you can get past the aging graphics. Definitely a game you can play for hours and hours... and hey, it's free! :)

Mostly, my games' lifecycle is almost the same. 3-4 weeks, then out. My most recent game is Warring Nations, I was somewhat hoping that I can play that game longer, because the developer promised 'continuous supply for new maps' ... but until now, they only have 4 maps. Uh well.
I still have Odyssey installed on my axim though, because it is a simple game, and it is very good for killing time :)
