I'm sure this has been covered before, but I searched the archives and came up with very little.
So the question is: How do you listen to your MP3s, Oggs, etc that you have on your PPC? Portable speakers? Headphones? Ok, which models? Looking for recommendations here.

I have three methods.
1) Through the tiny speakers - good enough to listen to talk, comedy, and other spoken audio.
2) Through ear buds/headphones - when audio quality is important such as music.
3) Through an ear phone FM transmitter.... used during those times I want to listen to my MP3 collection on 1GB CF card while driving. The adaptor pumps out stereo on an FM channel I tune in with my car stereo.

I would suggest just about anything from Koss (http://www.koss.com). I find their headphones to have excellent sound for the price (usually low to reasonable). Since you will be using the headphones with a Pocket PC, look into their line of portable headphones. The KSC line have excellent bass for their size.

I have two ways I listen.
The first (and by far the most used) is with headphones. I've got a pair of Sony Fontopia headphones. They're the kind that fit in the ear. I heard of them from these forums actually. They're incredible. I remember someone said that you can hear new things in old songs and it's totally true.
I've got the MDR-EX70LP headphones. Here's a link to the MDR-EX51LP's (http://www.sonystyle.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/en/-/USD/SY_DisplayProductInformation-Start;sid=CY2X6SkJDM2X6RYweVGd4mYY5CTf-aVVYYM=?ProductID=jcYKC0%2eNNZ4AAAD2hwG8UODr), which seem to be pretty close.
The second way I listen is when I travel. I use external speakers which connect through the headphone jack. The sound is really good on these as well. The sound is good enough to fill a hotel room anyways.
Check them out here (http://www.sonystyle.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/en/-/USD/SY_DisplayProductInformation-Start;sid=CY2X6SkJDM2X6RYweVGd4mYY5CTf-aVVYYM=?ProductID=980KC0%2eNgJwAAAD2NYm8UODq).

Almost all of my mp3 playing from my PDA's is in the car. A cassette adaptor that plugs into the headphone jack works great, or like JonnoB, I also use a mini FM transmitter.
This past weekend I was driving back from vacation in a 3 car convoy, and my little transmitter was actually strong enough to broadcast music from my 2215 to the FM radios in all 3 cars. Reception in my car was the best I'm sure, but the others didn't complain about it at all. That was pretty cool.

3 methods also.
1. For daily uses, (on subways, MRTs, buses, etc.) I use a simple 'projecting' earphone (basically an earphone with cone magnet, so it projects sound deeper into your ear, hence delivered better low-freq than regular earphones)
2. On planes (and sometimes at home, when I need the full low-freq blast), a sennheiser noice cancelling backphone.
3. When driving, plug the axim into an mini-RCA jack that connects directly to the car's audio system.
JonnoB : you mentioned about this mini FM transmitter .. any link to that device ?

So, you just put that anywhere in your car, and play it on the car audio system ... cool device. Do you happen to know the frequency range of this device ? I am curious whether I can use that in asia or not.

That range is only a few feet - it's a very low power device to avoid interfearing with other devices.

I picked up mine at Radio Shack. I don't remember the name, but I am sure you can find it almost anywhere - even on their website. As Jason said, the range is only a few feet. Stronger broadcast signals are not allowed without a broadcasting license. There are several kits you can buy that will allow you to get beyond the legal limits. I built from a kit (Vectronics) and can effectively cover my neighborhood from my computer. Great for full-house and property broadcast of music from my computer.

Ohh, ok. I am also curious about the frequency range (e.g. 800mhz to 1200 mhz) ... because some countries have different assignment of the FM radio band, and I would like to know if I can use that in indonesia.
