My nice shiny new :mrgreen: 5550 has the record button which, when I press the up or down, changes the sound volume appropriately. If I'm reading a document (word, PalmReader MS Reader etc) can I switch this behaviour to page up / down?

It would made reading books much more comfortable to just hold the PPC in one gorilla sized hand and toggle down (/ up) than the contortion my thumb gets into at the moment with the navigation button (joy pad).

GoLandscape enables this functionality. I use it on my 5455 and it works very well.
