What follows then, can't be called a review, and shouldn't be taken as such. The game is still at least six weeks from release and so any bugs I've found are will most likely be fixed by then. Hopefully, some of the ideas I've suggested will also be implemented too!"<br /><br />Looks like a cool game, albeit very similar to Snails. They're going to have to work hard to beat Snails!

This is why I have been holding off on buying snails. I've been a huge worms fana for years. I love those games.

I introduced WWP for PC to my dorm freshman year. There were multiplayer games with 5 or 6 people going constantly on my floor - made it awful hard to get any work done :)

It's very similar to Snails because Snails is a rip-off of Worms in the first place. :razzing:

yeah - the Worms franchise has been around for quite a long time - since 1995, as a matter of fact, when there wasn't even a Pocket PC OS. There have been several games, including Worms, Worms 2, Worms Armageddon, Worms World Party... and a bunch of others i'm sure i'm forgetting.

But i can't wait - the one thing really missing in Snails is the Super Sheep from WWP :)

Man I love Snails, can't wait for this. I never get tired when you exit the game and some Snail groans "Awww" :D

Love Snails, but Worms has got the Ninja rope... (read the review)...

YES, I have been waiting for this since it was announced over a year ago!
I bought and really like snails but WWP will beat it hands down if the implementation is anything like the PC version and having read the review I would say that it come pretty darn close.

The Worms franchise has been around for a while, and Snails is a virtual newborn on the scene, but Scorched Earth is the spiritual Granddaddy of them all! :D

Hmm. How come someone hasn't ported Scorched Earth to the Pocket PC?

Closest thing to Scorched Earth is Atomic Cannon. At least that's the closest I have found. Try it out at Atomic Cannon (http://www.isotope244.com/atomic_cannon_pocket.html)

oh man... scorched earth... i loved that game.

Maybe we should get even more old school and ask for a port of that old QBasic gorillas game where you throw the bananas at each other. Now that was a down-to-the-basics grandaddy of Worms.

Actually, I thought Artillery Duel pre-dated Scorched Earth.

My husband reviewed the very first Worms game for the Amiga in 1995 or 1996. :)

Heh I remember us coding a simplified version of this game back in high school...
