Hi Guys,

I'm planning on getting a 2210 in the coming months while I get my finances in order...

But anyways, my question is, is is possible to set the PDA to automatically sync with my Laptop when it gets into range?

Or at least download my email or something cool? :D

don't think so... right now i AS over bluetooth and the devices only acknowledge each other when they are in range (like tippin your hat without talking) Odds are your Ipaq will be off anyways so BT radio wouldn't be on then. If you talking about getting in range then turning on the iPAQ then have them syncing automatically, well that's a nice idea but i haven't figured out how to do it yet (if it even can be done) Don't think BT supports that so you'd basically have to click the connect button (since they wont connect automatically) and that'll sync them up (connect on the BT program not AS)

Sux which i can figure it out tho...

Not when it comes in range, but there's a software to automate and schedule ActiveSync - look at http://www.high-point.com for this.

The radio is off when the iPAQ is off, and there's a discussion on exactly this topic (why, how) in one of our forums at Geekzone. The poster (actually from High Point Software) worked in the original project for a Bluetooth enabled PDA and he gives the reasoning for this decision.

oh. yah. i meant when it was on and you walked into range of the bluetooth...

So there's no setting where you can run a task on an event huh?

Like in Windows for example, when you connect your USB camera or hit the scan button on yer scanner, you can set it to automatically load an application of choice or prompt you for what to do...

:D Would love that! But ActiveSync takes so long to decide what to do that it would not start and you've already left the range. It's not like Hotsync
