Hitachi DVD ROM

I just started using a new computer, and I put my old Hitachi GD-3000 DVD ROM drive in there, and ther is another CDROM drive int here but that doesnt reall ymatter.. But now none of the drives read cd's. I can't get the CDROM drive to read any cd's, and the DVD rom drive only reads CD's that aren't DVD's.. SO I looked up online for some drivers, and I found that other people are havingh te same problem I guess? Any help, can anyone find any drivers or have had this problem? Thanks

I've got the same problem with a Hitachi DVD drive that came with my old 600mhz Gateway PC. It worked fine when I used it with windows 98, but as soon as I upgraded to XP, it would only read CDs.
