Pretty interesting web game (www.ismokecrack.com)

I just found this game yesterday, and while it's not for PPC, it is very addicting. Has anyone ever heard of it or seen it on PPC?

BTW, yes the link is www.ismokecrack.com, but I'm serious, it really is one of those web games and it is pretty fun!

Haven't seen it, it is fun, and it is done in Macromedia Flash, so there is a potential it could be run on a PPC. Have you tried it in PIE?

I haven't seen anything like it on the PPC yet. But it is really fun to play.

Hmmm.... I got 19090, level 7 on my first game. Though I think I won't play again as this could be addictive. ;)

I'd like to mention for the sake of those who might look at this in an office environment or where there could be kids that there are adult-related pop-ups on that site. Aside from that, it's a cool game. :)

I guess this is one of those times that a mouse might work better than the little red thingy on my ThinkPad.

Yeah, I do, too, but allowed one through just to see what it was. D'oh! Too bad so many sites feel the need to stoop to porn ads to make a buck.

As an aside, I've been using the new Google Toolbar (http://toolbar.google.com/) v2.0 beta for a couple days now and its pop-up blocking feature seems to be working very well. It's nice to have a useful, spyware-free piece of software like this.

I made a .htm and included the .swf for that Curveball game.

It runs way slow on the Pocket PC, but it does run...

Download curveball.zip (http://talyn.wotshire.ws/curveball.zip) 32kb (please go easy, my admin has a bandwidth limit)

Sorry 'bout the pop-ups, I block them too so I didn't know!

Talyn, how is it that the file you posted works? What do you have to do to get it to run? I copied over the two files and opened the .htm file and all I got was a black screen.

You do have Flash installed on your device, right?

 Oops.

Still thinking I am using my 3950 (which had Flash on it, but alas, it is sold) and not my 2215!

Good thing I am downsizing on my handheld devices. It's easy to get confused between them!

Thanks talyn! It takes a long time to load but it works okay once it gets started. I wonder if antmobile is working on something for PPC2003. PalmGuy Flashplayer 6 for Pocket PC works on my 2215.

It looks like you have to tap on the graphic after you hit start game then it starts faster. It is in no way to slow for Pocket PC's. At least not a 2215.

Maybe WM2003 can perform better with Flash then, because it's just too slow to be any fun/challenge on my PPC2002 Axim 400MHz.

Well okay then, It's definitly not running at desktop speeds, but I tell you , once you get up to around level 6 things speed up quite a bit. Thanks again for bringing it to us.

Is your Axim always running at 400MHZ? I don't have one but I've heard that if the device is automatically choosing the clock speed it will slow down on some apps.

Plus I'm an Old Guy. Reflexes aren't what they used to be playing Pong in the arcade. I like the speed I'm getting; it gives the illusion of more distance between me and the computer opponent.

I got 16660 on my first attempt. It took me a level or two before I figured out how you could get more points by putting english on it. Cute game, but not near as addictive as SPB Lines or Cropped Out. I need some strategy in my games, not just pure reaction.

I used to like some strategy, but I think too much as it is, so lately I've been trying to play games that don't require thought. ;)

Back in the day (don't ask which day, 'cause it was so long ago I don't recall), there was a version of this game for the Atari Lynx handheld gaming system, called Cyber Squash, I believe... Very fun, very addictive... It may be out there if there are any Lynx emulators that run on the PPC...

Ok.. I admit. I've been playing that game again lately, and I just got a 2200 so I figure it will work better than my 3850, so I was wondering if anyone could make available the .zip that was paosted before? I'd love to have it, or if someone could tell me how to make it so I could play on my ppc? Thanks a bunch!

How about using Flash Assist (http://www.antmobile.com). It will let you view flash files without having an HTML file pointing to it. It was discussed (http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=16457) on PPCT a little while ago.

Yes but I don't want to pay for it to be totally honest.. Earlier in the thread someone posted a .zip with the swf and htm file needed to play the game, how do I make that?

spursdude

The way I did it was that I found a link on somewhere on the web to http://www.mhavard.freeserve.co.uk/movies/CurveBall.swf, and I just right clicked it and hit "Save to target."

From there, then I right click on that file on my hard disk, I just click "Open with... Avant" (or you could open it with Internet Explorer). Then I play it within my browser.

I'm not sure how to create the htm file with it, though. Playing it straight through the browser has worked, though.

Yeah, that's how I can play it on my PC, but I want to play it on my pocketpc... I just need to know how to make the htm file to target the .swf file, but I'm not sure how to go about doing that...
