View Full Version : The benefit of the doubt
O.k. I've had this phone/pda for a month now and I feel I've given it every chance, and opportunity to prove itself. as a PDA it is mediocre, and as a phone it downright sucks. the case it comes with is useless, the phone features it does have are difficult to use. for instance. why can't you use hands free speakerphone? it has the best speaker I've ever heard in a pda. Voice dialing requires a 3rd party software, that really sucks. there are very few hard buttons on the unit. all of the buttons are easily pressed accidentaly. ARRRRGGGGGHHHHH.....I just want to live...... can I please get a reality check? 8O
I have had mine for about three weeks. However, I upgraded from a Cassiopeia e-100, so I jumped light years. No question, the case is the worst ever. I use the speakerphone handsfree, so, I am not sure what you mean. I think the phone is a little awkward, but, the positive of the all in one negates that. I have not had much trouble with the buttons. So for me it has been a huge upgrade and over all I would give it a B

I don't understand ANY of your points. Here's a reality check for ya:
1) As a PDA...it's the same as ANY other PocketPC...the best PDAs on the market.
2) Handsfree Speaker phone can be done by holding down the Phone (Left Send) Button while a call is connected. Very easy to do and works extremely well.
3) Voice Dialing requires the INCLUDED third party application that is the BEST Voice Dialing App around. You don't even need to train it unless to talk with some sort of HEAVY FORIGN ACCENT.
4) If you go to Settings>Power>ETC> you can change the settings so that the power button is the only button that can awaken the phone.
5) Read the manual and sort thru your problems by using the search function on this and other sites...there'a ALOT of info to be found.
6) Enjoy your phone with a new perspective!

Hi. i assume u are refering to the samsumg i700.
to use the speaker phone feature make your phone call and as soon as it connects (1 or 2 seconds into transmission) simply press and hold down the "start telephone call" hard key on the lower left hand side of the device. this will turn on the speaker/press again the speaker will shut off.
hope this helps.
