I have my Pocket PC, and it has been a great little device, boy it hasn't been the device I would really benefit from in my job. I want something that is bigger and is not meant to replace my desktop. The tablet pc is too big and expensive and the pocket pc is too small. I really wish someone would make something that is about the size of a 6"x 9" steno book that could run my office applcations (really run them, not like Pocket PC runs them) and IE. It should have >10 gig hd, be wireless, have a beautiful screen and some form of built in keyboard. Something that can play full motion videos smoothly (a dvd player would be perfect).

I guess I really wish they would have continued to do wild and fun things with the HPC. And the darn thing cannot cost as much as a notebook computer.

Maybe I am doking smope, but....

Anybody else have ideas for a better product line than the PocketPC/Palm and the Table PC.

this device exists!! I think you are looking for a sub-notebook. Sony makes several (picturebook) , as well as toshiba (libretto), I use a fujitsu lifebook (mini laptop)

Any of these suitable? As far as I know, only the Sony is a real product at this point. Some interesting ideas, though.

Sony U101 (http://www.dynamism.com/u101/index.shtml)
Vulcan MiniPC (http://minipc.vulcan.com/default.asp)
IBM MetaPad (http://www.research.ibm.com/resources/news/20020206_metapad.shtml)

Jason posted this a few weeks back

I think it might be exactly what you want. I am seriously considering getting one when they are available.

It is so hard to keep up with technology. I appreciate all of the feedback!
