This does not update the OS; it's a bugfix. Enhancements include:
Resolves an issue where ActiveSync would periodically disconnect from the PDA when connected via USB.

Update display driver.

Update DataBackup utility

Updated to support 'RAW' IR mode.

Updated to keep D+ pin in High to improve USB connection success on some machines.

Updated to remove Intel PCMCIA 8 bit workaround solution. As evidenced by this thread on Brighthand, there have been sporadic issues with upgrading ROM. As always, use unsupported tools at your own risk...

Will Toshiba release a patch to fix the "Toshiba SDIO does not work with SDIO WiFi cards" bug?
I don't care about PPC2k3, but I wanna WiFi!

Resolves an issue where ActiveSync would periodically disconnect from the PDA when connected via USB.
This is the number one reason I gave up on using my e740 as a development machine and replaced it with an iPAQ h2215. Too bad Toshiba took a freakin' year to fix it.

Huh? Do you have a e740NW? The e740 has built-in WiFi...

Can I get an A-MEN! from the people?!?!
A year.
A YEAR!!! To fix the most basic, obvious use of the PPC in the first place - to synchronize information with a desktop computer.
Toshiba: "We are unaware of any ActiveSync disconnect issues with the e740. Please remove all storage cards unless you are actively running a backup. The storage cards may interfere with the proper operation of your Pocket PC device" :agrue:
Oh, the best part? This is EXACTLY the same update, byte for byte - that has been available for months to other markets. No US-specific changes, no enhancements... the SAME file. Why the 4 month delay, Toshiba??? Wassa matta, don't want to admit you totally blew it with the e740?

You're forgetting about the e740BT as well - with BT instead of WiFi.

Wonder how many potential e750 buyers went elsewhere because of the 740 fiasco?

I'm one.
You haven't lived until you've spent twenty minutes single stepping through eVC++ code trying to find a bug, only to have the e740 drop the connection (over and over and over...). I bought an h2215 instead of the e750 because of Toshiba's seeming lack of concern over this and other issues.

No, mine is an e335. I was led to believe that I could get WiFi via the SDIO slot once those cards hit the market.

I have looked at the specs for the e335 at several sites and they only mention a SD Memory Card slot, not an SDIO slot. I think this may be your problem.

miterb, the only problem with that is that they are, hardwarewise, SDIO. You can buy a Toshiba Bluetooth SDIO card and it works in it. However, the e335 doesn't have the SDIO Now drivers, which most other companies require. There is a licensing fee involved, which may have served as an inhibitor in adoption.

The e series Toshiba's are SDIO compatible, there is Toshiba's BT SDIO card. From What I gather the peripheral manufacturers are developing drivers that are compatible with Bsquare's SDIO Now program, and guess who isn't a part of SDIO Now.
