Dear All

I have just purchased a Linksys WCF12 card to go with my Ipaq 3970 running pocketpc 2002. I am trying to connect to the internet using my Netgear Wireless Router but can’t get it to work. I have configured the various settings and can ping the ipaq from my desktop pc so I know the WCF12 card is working. I can also sync with avantgo wirelessly so I am definitely connecting to something. The problem comes when I try to connect to the internet via the explorer as I just get a message saying that there is a problem with my settings. I am using the ‘work’ profile and just ticking the box that says my network is connected to the internet. Nothing I have tried seems to work, does anyone have any suggestions?

Many Thanks

In connection settings make sure that the drop down menus you have are in this order: Internet Settings; Internet Settings and last one should be Work Settings.

Thanks for your reply but nothing seems to work. I have tried all combinations I can think of for the ‘internet settings’ and ‘work’ boxes. Internet Explorer just won’t connect. I have used VXUtil to check the IP numbers but they all seem to be correct. I also tried to start vxIPConfig but I get the following error ‘Getadaptorinfo failed with error13’ whatever that means. Could this be connected to my problem? The strange thing is that Avantgo will download the latest updates from the web so it would seem that I have a connection lurking in there somewhere!! I have tried the same Linksys card in a Sharp Zaurus and that connects to my Router with no problem at all so I think that the problem does rest with the settings on the IPAQ.

Please help

Many thanks
