Hi, I have a ipaq 5455 with CF expansion pack and paln to buy a 1GB CF card.
My question is do I buy a CFcard or CF micro drive.
which one is better?
is CF Microdrive compatible with ipaq 5455.
any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks :confused totally: [/b]

The difference between a CF Card and a Microdrive will show up in battery life and durability of the device. Now, CF Card's will not suck up the battery like a Microdrive does and the CF Card will have a better durability; this is because a CF Card is made up of transistors which store data.
It does not take a lot of power to access this data, on the other hand, a Microdrive is literally a small hard drive. This means that a Microdrive contains platters and two small 'arms' that read the data off the spinning platters. It takes much more energy to spin the platters to retrieve data unlike the CF Card which just has transistors.
On the durability comment, since the Microdrive has moving parts there is a risk of breaking, the CF Card does not have moving parts and there has been reports of people dropping those cards in water and the cards still working.
As far as which you should buy, it does sound like the CF Card is better (better for battery life and better durability); however, Microdrives are cheaper, if you can find a good brand of CF Card (i.e. Lexar, SanDisk, CompUSA Brand, etc.) within $30 of the cost of a Microdrive, it probably would be worth the extra money for a CF Card.

Go with the CF
The darn things are near indestructible. And if you shop around you'll find one for less than a microdrive.
