View Full Version : PPC2003 and Netrunner/Net Use... do they work?

Hello. I have an HP2215 and I'm trying to get setup so that I can open files off my other computers in my home wireless network. I can copy files off the network to my PDA with the regular file browser but I can't open the files directly off the other computers.

I tried to use Netrunner and Net Use but it seems like these programs only work with PPC2002 and not 2003. Netrunner specifically says I need 2002 and every time I try to add a mapping in Net Use nothing is added to the list.

Is there any software out there that allows me to open stuff off the network if I'm running 2003?

have you tried a file explorer replacement like resco file explorer? i don't have a 2k3 device, otherwise i'd try it myself.

Yeah, I tried Resco Explorer. When I pick the Network icon nothing happens.

Is net use still available for download? Last I tried some link I saw to it - it did not work. If you know of a working link to Net Use please post.

Resco FE works fine. That's what I currently use to open mp3's from my PC.

You might want to check your network settings. I am running Resco File Explorer that came with my iPAQ 5555 and I am able to browse my LAN just fine. Couldn't do it with my 3870 using my Bluetooth Access Point, but with my WiFi connection, it works great!

I am able to browse the network via the Microsoft PPC File Browser and I can use the internet fine. But in Resco FE if I pick Map Drive under Network nothing happens. Is there some network setting I'm missing?

For my network connection settings, I have both set to "My Work Network" and I only have the "This network connects to the internet" box checked in Proxy Settings tab. Is there something else I need to add?

Hi everyone. It looks like the problem was that the version of Pocket Explorer 2003 I had was an old one. There's a new version at the Resco site that supports networking on PPC 2003.
