Hi,
I've seen people talk about the Ambicom wireless card and an issue of IE freezing up. I would like to get more details as to what they mean because so far, I have not had any "problems" with my Ambicom WL1100C-CF card (802.11b) in my iPAQ 2215.
For those of you getting this freeze issue, what are the exact symptoms? Did it start right away (i.e. since day one of owning the card), or did it happen after using it for a while?
I have a few days left on the return policy of the store where I bought it, so I want to know if it is worth keeping this card or will I run into problems down the road.
Thanks.

i don't think it's only ambicom.... here try this... disconnect off the wireless network.... turn off the radio i guess. Then connect then open IE. Make sure IE is closed (not minimized) this is the freeze issue i get when using wireless connections. It just locks up (not totally) if i connect then open IE, i have to have IE open first then connect for it to work right

Not sure how to turn the radio off, or disconnect other then pulling the wireless card so...
I pulled the wireless card out. Made sure IE was not running (checked under start -> settings -> system -> memory -> running programs.. and nothing was listed.) Plugged the wireless card in, waited for the LED on it to stop flashing and stay on solid (indicates connection made), then launched IE. No freeze.
That is how it always works for me. But usually the LED comes on solid before I even get a chance to pull the stylus out and click start -> IE.
Even from a powered off state. I turn the iPAQ back on, after the Wireless card's LED stops flashing, I launch IE and it works, no freeze.
Does that mean I do not have this IE freeze problem?

I just got an Ambicom WL1100C tonight for my iPaq 2215 and I downloaded the latest drivers from their website (i believe they are posted as Windows Mobile/PPC2003/CE.Net drivers). I installed them and it works great.

Mark,
I have a similar problem, but I have a Symbol Card (Socket Drivers). I'm just reading and surfing and all of sudden freeze up and I have to soft reset. I'm still looking around to see what may be causing this problem.

Have any of you guys got SPB Pocket Plus installed? I had problems with IE freezing when I was browsing when connected via a Bluetooth Network Profile...
I found the problem reproduceable about 50% of the time when clicking on a link in an e-mail to open a website. It would freeze when IE opened.
I starting switching things off, and eventually narrowed it down to the "Pocket Internet Explorer" plugin in SPB Pocket Plus (this is even with the newest v1.3 installed).
I disabled this plugin and it's been fine ever since.
