Hello there!

I am looking for a small, handheld, mini-laptop sort of computer for reading E-books and use for movies and internet. The Sony Clié PEG-UX50 & UX40 seems to be a nice choice ( http://www.pdabuyersguide.com/feature/sony_UX50.htm ), but I wonder if there are any handhelds like this with PPC2003?

Don't count on it until Mobile 2004, the design is currently vertical only (unless I've missed something). If that's what you want in a small form factor (not having to lug around a seperate keyboard), just go for the clie.

Edit: CE handhelds are like this, but they are larger than the sony. They are also expensive ($899 at CDW for the NEC 900 pro) in the few forms that they still exist. Also, they cannot twist their screen and be used as a slate like the clie can.

The UX-50 and 40 look very nice, and the 50 does have integrated Wifi and BT, but I won't even consider anything from Sony in the PDA arena, until they stop the Proprietary MS crap. I would love to get on of these, when they offer something with either CF or SD along with the MS slot.
$699... and all I can add to it is 256MB at a time. :bad-words:

Sorry for the rant
