Of recent, I have noticed that when my iPAQ has been off (usually greater than an hour), and I turn it on again, the iPAQ will turn itself off after about ten seconds. Then, once I turn it on again, everything seems normal. What is the issue here? Prior to the initial charge of the handheld, I performed a soft reset pursuant to the supplemental setup insert. Please help, this is a bit frustrating.

not battery issues, i think this is the problem with either ipaq backup (uncheck scheduled backups and batter monitor stuff) or Pocket Plus. Those 2 pieces of software has be discussed many times and have been determined to cause problems wheninstalled (pocket plus that is... ipaq backup comes installed but when you enable those settings it does that - not sure but i think i'm right)
So search the forums.. trust me, it's well documented here...

I performed a hard reset and the problem is gone. After doing some research and a little brainstorming, I did narrow it down to the backup application. It wasn't too hard to pinpoint since the only other application I have installed is Acrobat Reader. Thanks for the help.

Just a heads-up on that patch though, they currently only have available a patch for the version of iPAQ Backup that comes in ROM for HP iPAQ devices. If you have installed the full-blown Pocket Backup Plus software, scheduling is still a problem until they release a patch for that too.
